Oh I tell you – before these photos I was already totally k.o. I wanted to meet my dear Susanne from muckelie ‘just’ for photos and some chatting. And what did we do? She chased me up the hill over the 1000er Stageli, a staircase with 1150 steps. It’s not that I never do any sports or anything, but that was pretty exhausting. Is just a very different kind of movement than that I’m used to otherwise.

No, this is not this staircase, after a fortifying lunch we were then also on the Vita Parcours (a sports trail in the forest, there are many places in Switzerland). But it was really fun! It was a good thing that I sewed a new sports bra, once again the Hold’n’Sporty. Privately I usually don’t wear one, especially at home, but for sports I also need a bra.

Now I’ll have to slow down the next few days because of sore muscles. But I’m slowly getting fitter again, as an absolute good weather runner I’ll be outdoors more in the spring. Apart from that the gardening is really hard, I’m rebuilding it with dad’s help right now.

And here we have it again from very close, the Hold’n’Sporty. Our #cutoftheweek from today should animate us all to train diligently – after all, the summer is approaching. And I want to fit into my monokini from last year again. Or maybe sew me a new one, because I still have some fabric lying around.. &
Tell me, what kind of sport do you like best??
Leoprint Mother-Daughter Outfit

At first she was still my little girl… Okay, in a way she will always be. But in the meantime the daughter child wants to be cool. And she would like to have my clothes as well. So what does the mom do when she sews herself a new shirt?? She just sews two&

That I’m not the only one in the family who is totally into leoprint, I knew already. So when I then grabbed the fabric, I also immediately came up with the idea to make a partner outfit out of it. So I first sewed my shirt and put it on my daughter. Here and there something staked out, fortunately it is not quite so big then yet. I adjusted the pattern to her size and sewed shirt number 2. I can consider myself lucky, she looks up to me in many things and I enjoy it very much to be her role model. I am fully aware that this is neither a matter of course, nor that it will remain so over the next few years. Although that would be of course already very nice.

We have grown together much more since we started homeschooling half a year ago. Became an unbeatable mother-daughter team. It gives us both incredibly much that we can spend so much time together. Of course it’s not always easy, even here sometimes the sparks fly. But this is just part of it. Nevertheless I can be her support and she – together with the son – my life force. The shooting for today’s photos were then also a real family act. All three of us used the camera. For the partner photos here I put the camera on a tripod and Junior was allowed to press the button.

Tochterchen then also took one or the other photo of me to capture my new slimmy shirt a little closer. Finally, this is the centerpiece of this post, because it is the current #cutoftheweek and thus reduced to half price in the store is. I think this pattern is one of the most sewn in my collection. But it is also so beautifully versatile, from long sleeve to short sleeve, as a shirt or dress and with additional subdivision for a spaghetti strap shirt / dress, everything can be sewn from it.

After the first test part here I optimized the cut again in the teens size and so there will be for’s daughter’s child for this summer definitely some more Slimmy Shirt Teens. Currently I am thinking if there would be a need to offer the pattern in a few children’s sizes. What do you think, would your teenage daughters be interested in that too??

As you can see, love and cohesion are very important to us – I wish you all that you may also have such a great relationship. And your kids also like to be stitched up. It just has to be the fabric& cut fit&
Enjoy the soon to come weekend,
your Carina

Sporty on the road

Sometimes I feel like the weight of all the tasks and worries is pushing me to the ground. But today I wear it with ease on two hands. Including my own weight. Yes I know already, my belly is squeezed. That’s what you get if you want to take pictures in a belly-free top& But it’s really all about the new pants. It was time again for a pair of Sporty Leggings.

Since over the last few weeks& Since more and more of my jeans got ripped somewhere or the zipper broke, I’ve been wearing leggings for a while now. Whether jogging or shopping. They are also just super comfortable. And then still sewn so quickly.. I always sew a rubber band directly to it, as a cuff. This time I have found one with animal print in my warehouse and find it really great<3
So I took some pictures of this, yesterday afternoon, when it was drizzling rain and icy breeze. The plan was to make the horizontal bar unsafe. I couldn’t do it because my hands were shaking from the cold and I probably wouldn’t have been able to do a single turn. So you have to put up with very few photos. But at least I have a little outtake of the attempt for you. So you can go into the day laughing&

Yes, according to the motto ‘wanted but not able’, I’m rather clumsy here for the pictures. This also happens. More often than you might think& In addition, there is the perfectionism, as you see on a photo the imprint of the Unnerbuxe, on the next, the neck is unnaturally twisted and the last it pushes the fat out of all curves out. The pictures make it only otherwise never on the blog. Because here, however, only my buttocks are wide-pressed by the bar, I leave you that times to the #SchnittderWoche there and hope you are happy about it, the Sporty Leggings this week for half price to get<3
Glitter in the forest – linen knit Co-Z

Oh I tell you – today’s photos have demanded a lot from me! But hey, I recently discovered a little piece of paradise and my new Co-Z T-shirt just had to be photographed in the forest.. &
I sewed the whole thing from a linen knit with huge glitter dots from Schnittverhext.

The Co-Z Hoodie was until yesterday just that – a hoodie. From now on the cut also contains more sleeve lengths to make it suitable for all year round. Like here with my new short sleeve shirt. Okay I admit, you can’t see much of the outfit in the picture, but you can see the 3-4m it goes down under the tree trunk into the very rocky creek bed. It was a bit wobbly, but I always liked to climb trees and build bridges over the creek behind the house when I was a kid. So this is in my blood. So unlike dolls and other ‘typical girl things’ that I detested as a child.

Speaking of kids – mine had a lot of fun behind the camera today and pulled the trigger quite often. I think she likes ‘my’ new favorite forest also very much. Oh and do you see something else? White shoes. In the forest. In the mud. But hey, they are still white& And it had to be those, because they fit so nicely to the shirt. I’m not so crazy that I would climb up there with high heels, but then again I’m not. That would be too dangerous even for me. Just as I also do not let my children up there, at least not as long as there is no security.

But now back to the fashion: The fabric is as already mentioned a linen knit, here is special that the dots are printed on the left side of the fabric. You can turn the fabric as you like when sewing together, so that the right side of the fabric is outside and the dots shimmer through only discreetly. I’ve seen both versions in different shapes at clothing stores, so it’s a matter of taste here. I think, if the spots already glitter so beautifully, then one should also see them really well!

With this shirt I decided for the collar neckline, a hood would give the whole thing something more sporty, but I wasn’t looking for that. The neckline is sewn with a wide cuff, this is here also cut from the shirt fabric. Even if the Co-Z cut is not new, but I still like the neckline very much, just because it is just a little bit different. Maybe a bit tricky the first time you sew it, but as soon as you get the hang of how and where to sew through it, you’ll have a great eye-catcher in no time at all.

Because we are sinking here in wild garlic, I have last but not least a picture in the middle of one of the many leaf seas for you. And the cut is available for half price over the weekend, as #cutoftheweek. I’m looking forward to breathe more life into the design, because it is quite timeless in my eyes and can be implemented in many ways.
A Flash of Pink

A few years ago, as a teenager, I had this one dress.. Black, strapless and with a neon pink stripe in the middle. Now my newest dress is gray and by no means strapless. But I didn’t want to copy the old one& However, when I discovered the great ‘Speckle’ fabric at Graustufen Stoffe, I knew immediately what I wanted to make out of it.

The fabric has lots of little neon spots in pink and green on it. Since in my hodgepodge of sports fabrics among other things also a pretty bright pink had stored – yes guess what had to become of it& The sleeves I have simply omitted and the armhole narrow-edged with the coverlock around sewn.

The Saturday Night Dress was perfect for this, because it has a wide stripe under the chest. But here the side seam is a little bit warped because after trying it on I noticed that the pink fabric stretches a lot more than I thought. Since I have already noticed when touching that he stretches extremely, I have already each front .. Back part 2cm in the break (so in the circumference a total of 8cm) cut tighter, but that has everything only so wobbled and in the length it could be pulled after sewing also like a soft rubber. So unceremoniously again unraveled, cut away in length a whole 4cm (now it is about how it should be..) and in the width also taken away again what. Quite a lot even, another 24cm in circumference have become it at the pink fabric had to go away and after half an hour of wearing it has already felt quite chunky again. I am a little disappointed by the fabric quality, the next time I run to a better fabric, the middle part will probably be replaced at some point. Unfortunately, I also do not remember where the fabric was from :-/

But you know what? I still like the whole dress and will definitely wear it more often this summer. Despite the fact that it is so gaudy for my circumstances. Or maybe exactly because of that? Maybe also because I feel in it immediately a few years back and thus young and fresh again *chuckle *.

For today’s photos I have once again mobilized the daughter child, I’m really really proud of her as great she does that. I like the photos very much. By the way, I really like my make-up, I put a lot of effort into it this time. It has once again a touch of festival feeling – I’m already anticipating the summer, when you hear them again from all sides. That’s why there is also a big ear-piece on it, on the other side a glitter star drawn on the temple.. Sometimes it’s just fun to be creative outside of fabrics&

Since it is once again a Thursday, you can get the Saturday Night Dress until Monday for half price as #cutoftheweek for you. It makes me want more and I’m already looking forward to the next weeks& months to wear more and more airy light dresses again. The Saturday Night Dress can also be sewn with a lace insert in the middle, then it is even more airy!
I wish you all a great rest of the week and a lot of fun while sewing,

Cotton satin – a fabric is underestimated

There are so fabrics, with which many of my sewing colleagues can do nothing at all. Cotton satin is such a good example of this. In the stores there is almost always a small amount of elastane and that’s what makes the fabric so great for me. For a long time I’ve had one under the needle, as comfortable stretch pants or for dresses. That was one of the reasons why I designed the new Y-Dress pattern for such fabrics. Because the stretch woven fabrics in my shelf just piled up and I finally needed something where I can sew quite a few of them&

This snakeskin print was on the shelf for a while and finally I had the dress for it in front of my eyes. It is supposed to be hot, so the narrow pencil skirt had to be worn in any case. As meanwhile 5. Exemplar of the Y-Dress it went also quite briskly and quickly from the needle, so that I could cut in the morning and in the evening already had the photos in the box. For once indoors, trying out the newly (not yet finished) furnished photo corner.

After my last pictures of the little black dress came a lot of comments about the ‘too clunky’ shoes, I picked out the finest stilettos that are in my shoe collection. And almost broke my feet on it. The heels are even a bit thinner than my other pencil heels. I already know why I like the fat shoes so much, you just have the better grip in it and thanks to the platforms there they are also not so high. Well here it’s different, but they still belong to my favorites and that’s exactly why they stayed<3

So posing in front of a naked white wall is honestly not really my thing either, that’s why I like outdoor pictures much more. But for once everything is well lit. Only I recognize myself so hardly, I find that always looks so posed. But now I must first find an occasion to which I can wear the dress. Child& Some sample sewers told me that I should try it on a man – they would surely run after me. I dare to doubt it, especially since I never go anywhere where I would have the opportunity to do so& But I may just dress pretty for myself, the little bit of housekeeping is finally easier when you feel pretty<3

Little black dress – a woman can never have too many of them

I don’t know how many are already hanging in my closet, but one more is possible. And one more.. & Seriously, the little black dress fits but also just always! It is definitely one of my absolute favorites, no matter what cut and fabric. The main thing is black, tight and short.

Or as in this case here: with a very low back! Yes I did it again, but I like backless also just extremely happy. After the question of a skirt came up in the sample sewing, of course I had to sew one for myself too. First I was not so sure whether that fits me at all. But now on the finished dress I really like it super<3

It looks so feminine I think and since I am rather flat, I can use every roundness well (so in the right places, of course, preferably& ). The fabric used here is a stretch-engaline. It is lengthwise elastic but the pattern is also printed crosswise, so I just turned the pattern pieces by 90degrees. The very fine gray print is so nice discreet inconspicuous from far away, but from very close he makes really what!

How good that I still have a few meters of it, from it will still arise jeans and a skirt and mom has also already cast an eye on it&
For the photos here we were really lucky, in the morning it has rained again and again (see puddles), but towards noon it was then briefly quite friendly and even quite warm. So I went out and used the light.

I was able to persuade Romy, a mom from our free learning room, to take the pictures – she’s doing really well behind the camera and I’m totally happy with the photos. Times another background also does well& The funny thing is the rest: We’re right next to a school here – you should have seen the looks of the occasional student walking by (all so nicely pubescent..) *giggle*

After yesterday’s complete social media failure, my nerves were pretty much at the end as well. How am I supposed to get in touch with my sample seamstresses without contacting them and uploading all the pictures to the e-book?? Well, with a lot of good coaxing it worked out very slowly and the Y-Dress is online. So you can now also sew a copy, or even a few? I have 5 pieces so far and there will be more in any case! The fabrics are all screaming to be sewn&
But beware: The Y-Dress is not for absolute beginners, it requires some adjustments if you don’t fit exactly to the size chart. As with all close-fitting weave cuts – but that’s why we sew, just not to wear the standard mush in oversize, but also times what really fits well&
And now happy shopping – until and including Monday there is the Y-Dress namely at the introductory price<3

Dreamcatcher blouse for girls

This year there will be much more blouses than t-shirts in my daughter’s closet for the summer. Since she got the first ones, she likes to wear her Posh Blouses made of woven fabric much better than shirts made of jersey. Since someone has probably developed a new preference& Well I’m glad, I find they also stand her quite excellent!

After a round of watching GNTM, she now also poses quite confidently in front of the camera (so even more than before already..). I found this fabric at Schnittverhext for design sewing and bought it right away – without even asking the child. Was a lucky hit, they find the dream catchers just as great as I do<3

But we had some bad luck when taking the photos. Beautifully coiffed, blouse ironed, camera packed and photo-ready weather. And then? Is simply the battery of the camera empty! So the photos had to be taken with the cell phone. How good that today’s smartphones can really keep up with that. Thanks to portrait mode I can now look at them in 3D *chuckle*.

On the way to the location she was surprised to see that the pattern is exactly in the middle. There I explained then first of all that I am an absolute sample nerd. Of course the little heart in the middle of the dreamcatcher has to be placed exactly in the middle of the fabric fold.
Now I need a few more matching fabrics to be able to sew more summer pieces for my daughter, so I’m going fabric shopping..

And to you I can highly recommend the cut and fabric, they harmonize so beautifully together.

So much for gray mouse!

That I have a preference for black& gray, is probably no secret. All the more I am happy about my new Valentine Dress in beautiful gray. Nix da with gray mouse, I think that even looks very elegant, the marble fabric reminds me of expensive houses with noble interior<3

The light offshoulder dress has just offered itself wonderfully for the fabric, I wanted to sew a Valentine dress for a long time again anyway. This is actually the first, since the end of the sample sewing over a year ago!
For the photos I went to our free learning room without the kids (who were on vacation with their dad) – there are some great moms there and one of them let me persuade her to take the photos. Thank you! &

This time I have shortened the sleeves a little more, I’m preparing so diligently for the summer – so they just had to be short. The great fabric, by the way, was provided to me by Graustufen Stoffe – I have discovered them only recently (they are also still quite new on the market) and with the motto ‘every fabric contains gray’ I could immediately make friends quite well&

Because I find it so great, I may also share with you<3 With the code Sewera you get 10% discount on the fabric of my dress. Enter the discount code directly in the shopping cart. The discount code is valid up to and including Wednesday, 13.03.2018, but only while stocks last.
And if you want to sew the dress right away, the Valentine Dress is also available at a special price, as #SchnittderWoche it is half price in the store until and including Monday.
Have a great week everyone,

Flare Top mini Dress

It is short – very short even. Actually I first thought it will be a simple shirt. But then, when I held the fabric in my hands and put the cut on it … Yes, I just had to extend it a bit. In the summer I’ll probably run around there with a hot pants underneath, for the photos the skirt from last week was allowed to stay right on the butt – just pushed up a little&

One also almost does not see at all, or? & The flare top is one of my absolute favorite cuts for spring.. Summer. It is so nice and airy and especially with the sewn-in bra I never have to worry about whether my breasts are hanging down *chuckle*. Sure with shorter straps I can push it a little higher, but I for my part find that not necessarily so beautiful. Honestly, I’m even glad that I have so little bust size – as a teenager with twice as much, it was not always so easy, especially when it comes to clothes. Today I can walk around without a bra (which I actually do most of the time). But it’s comfortable to have an insert sewn in, so you can walk around and turn around a little more freely..

The mega great ajour knit here was provided to me by Schnittverhext and is soooo soft, as one imagines a knit just. With the super fine Ajour pattern it becomes even more summery, but without you having to be afraid that you could peep through it.

For the bra insert I used a matching heavy romanite, it’s so nice and sturdy and thick, I really like this fabric! By the way, slowly the bushes in the background start to bloom, the first buds and many small future leaves can already be seen! So nature is definitely telling me that it’s time for summer clothes. I’m ready for the coming seasons&

And because it’s Thursday again, you can get the Flare Top as #cutoftheweek for half price until and including Monday. So that you too can dance through the spring/summer with the great summer shirts very soon. Mom and I love the cut, I’m sure you will too soon<3
