General information about the resume

As with many things in life, the same is true with a resume: Less is more! On the one hand, you want to present yourself to your potential employer in the best possible way, but on the other hand, personnel managers usually only have a limited amount of time to deal with your application documents. Therefore, you should not write everything that comes to your mind in your resume, but pay attention to brevity and conciseness. In general, a resume should never be more than two to three pages maximum.

Keep in mind that the resume tells your story. Although your resume must be presented without gaps, you will increase your chances of being invited to an interview if you focus more on the stations in your past that also match the position for which you are currently applying.

Delete unimportant information

This is really about cleaning out the unimportant information that has accumulated in your resume. The more work experience you have, the more radically you should revise your resume. In this way, you will not take up the time of the personnel officer unnecessarily.

Adapt to the job advertisement

As already mentioned, your resume should not have any unexplained gaps. In addition, the basic data of your professional career must always be mentioned. For each application that you write, you should also consider in advance exactly which stations, tasks and activities could be particularly relevant for the advertised position and emphasize these points in particular.
