Freezing minced meat – this is what you have to keep in mind

Minced meat is one of the most sensitive foods and spoils quickly. Therefore, it should be processed as fresh and quickly as possible. If there is something left over, or you want to keep it for stock, you can freeze ground meat.

How to freeze minced meat?

Spread the freshly bought minced meat in a freezer bag pressed flat or rolled out for freezing. This way it can freeze through quickly and thaw out again more quickly. For later consumption, it is most convenient to freeze ground beef in portions. A good amount is 250 g of meat per bag.

You can store already cooked minced meat in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze it. At a temperature of -18°C, it keeps in the freezer for up to 3 months. Make sure ground meat is completely cooled before freezing it.
