How to create a mind map

The button for creating learning resources is located on the left side of the upper drop-down menu"Create". Click on it and choose the mindmap option. You will be taken directly to a new mindmap area.

When you create a mindmap, it automatically becomes "in your subject area"General" saved. However, if you are in a subject area when you create a mind map, it will automatically be saved in that subject area.

Create your mindmap

When you create a new mindmap, you will initially see your central node and a menu bar with many options to customize your mindmap.

By clicking on the central node and writing something, your mindmap will automatically be renamed accordingly. If you drag the "+" symbol away from the node, you can create another node. This will be connected to the central branching point by a thin thread.

In the menu bar you will find several options to edit your text; you can make it bigger, bold, italic or change the font of the main node and all connected nodes.

Change font

You can also change the color of a node. If you want, you can apply these changes only to the silhouette of a node or by using the "Enable gradient filters" option to all "children-Apply knot.

To delete a node and all its sub-nodes, select the node and click on the ‘X’ icon in the top right corner. You will be prompted to confirm this action.

The paperclip icon allows you to attach other learning aids to a mindmap node in an easily accessible way. You can also add an annotation in the form of a small note. A note can only be accessed through the node it is attached to. Click on the small notepad icon in your mindmap to access the annotations.

The Actions menu

In the header you can see the drop-down menu"Actions". From here you have the option to move your mindmap to another subject or topic, export it as a PNG file, print it, copy it, generate a note, share it with friends, groups and other users, make it private or public, edit the title, description and markers, go to view mode or performance statistics, or delete the mindmap completely.

Share your mindmap

If you want to share your mindmap with friends, you can either set it as "read-only" or you can delete it or as "Allow copying Share version. The read-only option gives your friends a snippet of your learning resource; they can see everything but not add anything new. The "Allow copying option gives them a copy of your mindmap, which they can then edit themselves.

Share mindmaps

This works the same way for sharing with groups; instead of selecting friends, you select the group you want to share the learning resource with!

You can also share your mindmap outside GoConqr by using the "Social" button- and "Email Use options. If you want, you can embed your tutorial on a website or blog by inserting the embed code in the HTML view of your page.
