I have collected many moments of happiness again this week.
With the moments of happiness I want to show that there are moments of happiness in the life of every person and every day. I would like to call on people to recognize and appreciate these small, beautiful moments in their own lives. For the appreciation of the little things in everyday life are nothing but our happiness in life. It is already there, we just have to learn to see it!
During the last week of July 2020, the following moments made me happy:
1. Happy daughter in the park
She was so exuberant and happy to relive the place where she was so often with her daycare mother and the other children! And so amazed that everything was much smaller than she had remembered. Her happiness and the joy of life that flows from all her pores, makes me happy too, again and again.
2. Make the season table summer
To redecorate the seasonal table (which is the big windowsill in our living room in Berlin) always gives me a lot of pleasure. Here I rather prepare a base, which the children then further design. You put down what you found or rearrange the arrangement. The little daughter sometimes also plays nicely with the elements of the seasonal table.
To find the lavender elf again, which has now lain almost a year in the summer box in our living room cabinet, was especially nice. I felted her with much love at that time.
3. An empty outdoor pool
I took the picture myself from the tower of the water slide to capture the emptiness of the magnificent outdoor pool of Dessau-Rosslau. Big daughter and I could hardly believe our luck that in the evening after 5:30pm the outdoor pool was still so beautiful, but so empty.
I was especially happy because it gave the daughter a chance to try the water slide without pressure and waiting kids behind her. She was afraid of water slides. And the only way for her to overcome this fear was an empty bath respectively a slide where she is not pushed from behind. So really a huge luck for us. She managed to jerk off and slide down. And what fun she had with the slide afterwards! And me too, because I love Water slides. And really joy is only when you can share the joy.
The nice souvenirs from Dessau: the Bauhaus program for 2020, a notebook and a pencil for the daughter, and for me a stamp set.
5. Funny moments with the child
One evening I made bees from alder cones again. The big daughter had bathed and joined me. We did some handicrafts together and listened to a radio play, which made us laugh our heads off because of the absurd parts. That was a totally beautiful moment for both of us.
6. jam with a nice label
From a rest of frozen forest berries I cooked a jar of jam. The moment of happiness was when the label was ready and the glass looked so inviting. My plea: make an effort with your preserving labels, they can really lift your spirits!
8. A moment among sisters
After the big daughter and I were back home from Dessau, the children sat together on the terrace and looked at photos. They chatted properly like two greats, told each other news and had their very own intimate sister moment. As a mom my heart goes out to you.
9. A bouquet of flowers
Hach, the beautiful summer flower bouquet with the alder cone bees on it! Flowers make happy!
10. Leftover recycling
From this rest of a dried sourdough white bread should become breadcrumbs. But first the bread is still dried. Leftover recycling always makes me happy.
11. Photo session
For the hashtag that you saw a lot on Instagram the last two weeks, my husband took a lot of fun black and white pictures of me in an impromptu photo session. I have since deleted my Instagram post on the hashtag again, because the hashtag was (unknowingly) used incorrectly by so many women, including me. It used to have a completely different meaning, and that is now totally watered down, as I unfortunately only learned today from @noraimlau.
But the photo session was totally fun. I especially put on this white top with the black bow. My husband constantly made jokes and gave stupid instructions, I had to laugh completely. We both had fun.
12. Summer Sky
This summer sky and the blooming knotweed on the tree in our apartment complex. Knotweed is actually not one of my floral friends, but it smells good and looked totally beautiful here.
And your moments of happiness?
And now it’s your turn! What made you happy last week? Feel free to let me know, whether in a separate blog post or here in the comments!
