Samuel Langhorne Clemens saw the light of day on 30. November 1835 in Florida (Missouri) the light of the world. After the early death of his father, he began an apprenticeship as a typesetter at the newspaper Missouri Courier. At the age of 17, he went to New York and then traveled Philadelphia and Washington, where the author wrote his first travelogues.
After that he lived in San Francisco and worked as a reporter in Hawaii. From 1863 the American writer wrote his articles under the pseudonym "Mark Twain".
