Password protect folders – encrypt windows 10 folders

Everyone owns sensitive data, the content of which is not necessarily intended for the general public. Therefore, if in doubt, simply password protect the affected Windows 10 folder. Using 7-Zip to encrypt Windows 10 folders

7-Zip is a free Open source software and is one of the most popular packing programs for the Data compression. You can find the download directly on the Manufacturer’s site. If you often download large amounts of data from the Internet, you probably already have the application installed anyway. Or you can use an alternative like WinRAR, which can also encrypt Windows 10 folders.

To quickly password protect a folder, follow the steps below for 7-Zip:

If your spouse wants to access your PC, you create a new password for him/her new user to. So if your access remains secret, logically you don’t need to encrypt folders.

With the Windows 10 already preinstalled BitLocker encryption you can still password protect drives and their folders:
