Florian Silbereisen: Sad insight of the showmaster – "Now is good"
This is Florian Silbereisen
For Florian Silbereisen has been going really well in recent years. Even the sudden love breakup with pop queen Helene Fischer in 2018 didn’t hurt his career. On the contrary: the heartthrob is a sought-after guest in countless TV formats.
Whether as a juror on "Deutschland sucht den Superstar," as a captain on "Traumschiff," as a guest judge on ARD and ZDF quiz shows, or as a singer on various music shows. Florian Silbereisen has seemingly achieved everything you can dream of in show business – you might think so.
Florian Silbereisen: Missed opportunity! He can’t get this star out of his head
But even a showmaster like Florian Silbereisen plagues unfulfilled dreams, as he reveals in the "Stern" interview. It’s not so much about his private life, about which very little is known, but about his goals as a TV star.
None other than TV legend Peter Alexander is said to be behind it. The Austrian was considered one of the most popular entertainers on German TV from the mid-1950s to the mid-1990s. For Florian Silbereisen he later even became a great role model.
"He was not an idol of my youth, I didn’t know him then at all. But when I got the chance to stand on stage myself, I naturally looked at the great show hosts, and Peter Alexander stood out for me," Silbereisen reveals.

Florian Silbereisen wistfully: "We still tried to do that"
But it never came to a personal meeting between Florian Silbereisen and Peter Alexander. The pop star has been on stage since 1999 and has even been hosting his own music shows since 2004. Peter Alexander, on the other hand, made his last official TV appearance in January 2005.
Florian Silbereisen remembers that time very well: "I thought it was great how he said goodbye to the public: He announced it and went through with it. Having him on my show was my biggest dream at the time. We still tried, but he said: Now is good."
A wish that will never come true. On 12. February 2011 Peter Alexander died at the age of 84 in his hometown of Vienna.
