Men makeup makeup without anyone noticing it
Make-up is a woman’s business? Bullshit! You can ignore such outdated role patterns. Because why shouldn’t men cover up dark circles and pimples too? After all, good looks are not reserved for women alone.
Why do men need make-up?
No man really needs makeup. Women just as little. But like the ladies you can use it to cover dark circles, pimples and redness. This will make your skin look cleaner and younger – and you more rested and fresh.
How much make-up is okay for men?
It’s simple: the amount you feel comfortable with. You feel like lipstick and nail polish? No problem! However, if you don’t want people to see that you’re wearing makeup, watch the quantity. Feel your way with a concealer to cover dark circles and pimples. If you want even more coverage, you need a tinted day care or foundation.

How men discreetly cover dark circles
Concealer is the most inconspicuous make-up product for men and at the same time the most effective to cover dark circles under the eyes. If you’ve been short on sleep but have an important business meeting coming up that you want to look fresh for, concealer is a savior in a pinch. Products with integrated sponge applicator are the easiest to use. Apply the sponge to the inner corner of the eye and pull it diagonally down to the cheek, then diagonally up again to the outer corner of the eye, so that a V-shape is formed at the end. Now tap this concealer V in with a fingertip to blend in the color.
Our favorites: "Fit Me Concealer" from Maybelline and the "Liquid Camouflage Concealer" from Catrice. Both cover well, without looking mask-like and do not settle in mimic wrinkles.
How to use make-up as a man to cover my pimples?
Pimples always appear when you need them the least. Concealer can also be used to conceal skin blemishes in no time at all. But it’s better not to dab the concealer directly onto the blemish with the integrated sponge. You rub pimple bacteria into the applicator, which can multiply there and lead to new pimples the next time you use it. Better: Put some concealer on the fingertip and tap it several times on the pimple, do not wipe (!) until the redness becomes invisible.
Beautiful skin thanks to make-up
You want fresher, more even skin overall? Then, in addition to the concealer, you should add a tinted day care (has a light coverage) or a foundation (covers more). Regardless of which of the two variants you choose, the following applies when buying: The more liquid the product, the thinner and thus more inconspicuous you can apply it. Important: Blend the color well with your fingers, a sponge or a brush so that there is no make-up edge. Be careful in the beard area: even in super-short stubble, makeup and tinted care will settle heavily.
Our favorites: The "Face& Body Foundation" from MAC, the "Authentik Skin Natural Luminous Foundation" by ZOEVA and the "Tinted Moisturizer" from Lab Series. Both can be applied nice and thin, do not settle in the whiskers and do not rub off on the shirt collar.
How men find the right make-up shade
Whether it’s make-up, tinted skincare or concealer, the most important thing is to choose the right color so that it’s not obvious that you’re wearing make-up. When buying, it is best to test the concealer or cream directly on the face. On the back of the hand or forearm, the skin tone differs. Make sure you get the shade right in the light of day. The artificial drugstore light falsifies colors considerably. You can tell it’s the right shade because it blends in with your skin tone without the need for long smudging. Buying make-up is already embarrassing enough and now you have to test it in the store? You should not be ashamed. And if you do: You only have to do it once and can order the products online the next time.
What distinguishes make-up for men from make-up for women?
Men can use make-up just like women – but you shouldn’t secretly use your girlfriend’s or roommate’s make-up. In all likelihood, the color doesn’t match your skin tone. And then you don’t look better, you just look badly made up.
Tip: If you want your makeup to go undetected, foundation shouldn’t contain glitter particles and shouldn’t be heavily matte. Both make the skin look unnatural – and that’s exactly what you don’t want.
You feel like putting on makeup? Then do it! Don’t be embarrassed to buy and use makeup. Some concealer or foundation just makes you feel better. But do not forget: Before going to bed – just like with women – don’t forget to remove your makeup. Otherwise you risk pimples.
