Dusseldorf Airport is a perfectly equipped and customer-friendly modern airport for passengers, which is characterized by a well-designed functional. It goes without saying that the departure from Dusseldorf is undertaken by many travelers. Therefore, many different transportation options to and from the airport have been carefully considered in order to meet all, even the most demanding needs and specificities of the customer’s requests. Since the airport is located within the city, the connection is fast and easy.
How to get to the airport and from there by train?
Dusseldorf local transport works perfectly. For example, when airport passengers choose a rail connection, they can use one of two rail transportation options – conventional light rail or monorail. In Terminal C of the airport, there is a station of city electric trains that run at intervals of approx. Ride 20 minutes and connect Dusseldorf with Cologne station. If you decide to take this line, follow the sign "Terminal S / S-Bahn 11". The journey time is 15 minutes.
In addition to this train Dusseldorf airport connection, passengers are offered the so-called Sky-Train, a monorail of the Dusseldorf airport long-distance train station. Stations with the corresponding Sky Train sign are easy to find in the airport terminals and in parking lot P4. The monorail runs every 3.5 to 7 min. and runs daily from 3:45 a.m. to 0:45 a.m. with a three-hour break at night. This type of intercourse is quite fast: its travel time is only ca. 7 min.
The monorail will take you to the station "Dusseldorf Airport", which is 2.5 km away from the airport. Many long-distance and local trains stop at this station, just over 350, so you can easily find your destination and take one of these many trains, from regional to express, to almost every corner of Germany.
Bus service

Watch out: None of these routes go at night, so plan your time wisely.
Cab and car rental
The cab is known to be the most expensive means of transportation. But for those who are willing to pay a certain amount for convenience, cab service delivery is the fastest and cheapest from the point of view of comfort. A ride from the airport to the city center costs between 24 and 28 euros. The ride to the main station costs 1 euro more – 29 euros. In contrast, the route Dusseldorf Airport – the center of Duisburg will require a tidy sum of 60 euros.
At the airport you can use a certified cab service: Cab Dusseldorf, Rhein Taxi, "Your wish cab", whose drivers know English. These cars accept credit cards, so you can use this option to pay if necessary. If you get to the fair conveniently from the airport, you pay a preferential fare of 20 euros for it. Another option, especially attractive for car enthusiasts, is renting a car. In the arrival hall of the airport you can find such well-known rental companies as Europcar, Avis, Sixt, Hertz. You can book a car online and then get a quality service. But remember that the offices of rental companies are closed at night.
Transfer service
The transfer from the airport to the city is a quite comfortable and inexpensive way of traveling – not by public transport, but by car. The transfer must be ordered online in advance.
