That’s why it’s all the more important to take time for each other, whether it’s just a few hours or several days. The best way to do that, of course, is to simply pack your bags and escape the stress of everyday life with the person you love by your side.

For couples there is hardly anything more beautiful than a vacation together. Whether it’s just a short break in a wellness hotel, a romantic weekend trip or the annual summer vacation – a trip together brings people together and creates wonderful memories.

To give you some inspiration, we have come up with ten really romantic vacation destinations that are ideal for lovers.

1. Paris, France

If it comes to romantic travel destinations for couples, then the classic Paris may not be missing of course. In the city of love there are numerous romantic places, buildings and restaurants and is therefore popular as a vacation for couples.

On a couples’ trip to Paris, a visit to the Eiffel Tower is of course a must. Just the sight of this unique landmark, especially after dark, creates a romantic mood. No wonder there are an average of two marriage proposals per day in this place.

A boat trip along the Seine is also a great option for lovers. On some ships it is even possible to eat dinner. Also worthwhile is a trip to the artists’ district of Montmartre. Here you can find a wall with the writing "Je t’aime" in 250 languages.

2. Venice, Italy

Next to Paris, Venice is one of the most romantic cities in the world – and rightly so. With its small restaurants and cafes, typical Venetian houses in pastel colors and impressive palaces, the city in Italy is made for couples in love.

A gondola ride for two on the waterways of Venice is of course a must on a love vacation. You should also visit the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica during your trip. Otherwise, it is worthwhile to just drift through the old town and discover the many small, winding alleys.

For long walks on the beach you can visit the beautiful Lido de Venezia or Alberoni just outside the city center of Venice.

3. Luneburg Heath, Germany

You don’t have to travel far for a couples’ vacation. Also in Germany there are romantic places where you can spend beautiful hours or days for two. The Luneburg Heath is a vacation region to fall in love with.

The Luneburg Heath exudes a romantic atmosphere with its beautiful and seemingly endless heath areas. Especially worthwhile is a trip during the heath bloom in late summer between the 8. August and the 9. September. Then the landscape shines in a strong purple color.

4. Verona, Italy

In the ranking of the most romantic places in the world, Verona is right up there at the top. After all, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet fell madly in love here.

A highlight for couples in love is therefore a visit to the famous balcony of Juliet in Via Capello 23. In the courtyard of the house you can leave little love letters and locks. For those who are not quite so lucky in love matters, you only need to approach the statue of Juliet in the center of the courtyard and touch her right bosom. If you like, you can also write a letter to Juliet and put it in the red mailbox. The next romantic destination for couples is in Turkey. We are talking about the Cappadocia region, which is famous for its "fairy chimneys" is known. This refers to the cone-shaped rock formations that were formed by erosion from the volcanic tuff rock. This rocky landscape alone is definitely worth a trip. Especially romantic in Cappadocia are the countless hot air balloons that float across the sky.

6. Zillertal, Austria

Desire for romance? Then off to Austria more precisely to Tyrol. The Zillertal is one of the most popular destinations in Austria and offers perfect conditions for a couple’s vacation, because in the region there are numerous romantic places and hotels.

How would it be for example with a Wellnesshotel or a cosy mountain hut with fire-place? It is especially cozy in winter, when the mountains and the landscape are covered with snow, but a trip is definitely worthwhile in summer as well.

7. Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast should probably be a household name to many thanks to Instagram. Every year numerous celebrities, Hollywood stars and influencers cavort here. But even if it can get crowded, especially in summer, on the coastal region in Italy, the Amalfi Coast is and remains a real vacation paradise for lovers.

Whether Positano, Amalfi or Ravello – the cities inspire with picturesque alleys, which slope terraced towards the coast, a breathtaking backdrop, great sunsets and idyllic, small harbors. An absolutely romantic destination in Italy.

8. Santorini, Greece

Anyone who has ever been to Santorini knows only too well the special charm of this small island in the Cyclades. Picturesque white houses with blue roofs, steep cliffs, pitch-black lava beaches, the azure waters of the Aegean Sea, and traditional Greek tavernas – Santorini is a real picture-book destination.

It becomes particularly romantic at sunset in the village of Oia in the far north of the island. It’s among the most impressive on the island, but beware: it can get crowded! You love wine? Perfect. Then you should definitely stop by one of the many wineries that exist on the island and take part in a tasting session.

9. Iceland

Iceland is just predestined for a romantic couples holiday. Volcanoes, black lava fields, glaciers and geysers – the largest volcanic island in the world offers you lots of nature and time for togetherness. And since it usually gets pretty cold in Iceland, it’s time to get out of the hectic daily routine and into a cuddly vacation.

It gets cozy and warm when you take a bath in the Blue Lagoon on the Reykjanes Peninsula near the capital ReykjavIk at temperatures between 37 and 42 degrees Celsius. It is at least as romantic to watch the aurora borealis together, which make the sky glow in brilliant colors at night. In Iceland the lights are best seen in the months of February and March as well as September and October. The best way to discover the varied and impressive nature is by car or motorhome.

10. Maldives

The Maldives are THE destination of all honeymooners. The island archipelago in the Indian Ocean, which consists of several atolls and a total of 1196 islands, delights with white, palm-fringed sandy beaches, water that glistens in all shades of blue and turquoise, and colorful coral reefs.
