Birth and birth process- Everything about important phases of childbirth!
Many pregnant women wonder whether they will even notice the onset of labor pains and are often afraid that they will not make it to the hospital in time. But there is actually hardly any reason to worry, because a woman naturally notices when her little one is born Baby would like to see the light of day. Many women experience a rupture of the membranes, some notice a so-called drawing bleeding when the cervix opens slowly. After that, the light contractions of the uterus begin, which are accompanied by abdominal cramps. These become more intense with time and occur at shorter intervals (5 to 10 minutes), so now is the time to start the journey to the maternity hospital.
If a woman is registered at the maternity clinic, doctors and midwives usually know exactly about the condition of her baby. the position of the child as well as the preferences of the expectant mother know. The birth is ready to start, although many hours can pass between the different phases of delivery. Some women lie in labor for a long time and are very exhausted- This is especially common in first-time mothers. For others, the birth is relatively quick and uncomplicated. Midwives and doctors check the heartbeat of the unborn child at regular intervals and assist the mother-to-be.
The phases of birth or. Childbirth: We take a closer look at the birth process!
Every normal birth or. the general course of labor can be divided into four phases, with the duration and strength of labor differing for each woman in each phase.
The first stage is the opening stage. The woman feels mild contractions at first, which become stronger over time. If contractions occur at intervals of less than seven minutes, the midwife will check to see how far the cervix has already opened. At the beginning, it is two to three centimeters dilated; when the little head can already be felt, the opening phase is complete.
In the transition phase the cervix opens up to ten centimeters and the woman in labor has strong contractions. The baby’s head now makes its way out and turns to the appropriate position. When the head reaches the bottom of the pelvis, the so-called expulsion phase begins. The female now has a strong need to push the baby out and would like to scream her pain out loud for a short time. By pushing, the little body pushes further and further towards the exit and is now received by the midwife. Finally the offspring is here!
But even if the baby is now in the world, the birth is not yet completely finished. In the postpartum phase, the placenta is still being born, which detaches itself and is pushed out. However, most women are so happy with their baby that they hardly notice this phase of birth. If necessary, the doctor will have to stitch the woman in case something is torn during delivery, which is not uncommon.
